Best Western Plus Hotel La Marina

We really enjoyed our three nights here, and the lavender scent in the room when we arrived made us feel welcome right away. Everything was spotless, which mattered especially since we had our cat with us. The hotel itself is elegant and the service was excellent. It’s right in Port Saint Lucia, with restaurants, shops, and lovely sunsets nearby. The beach and town centre are an easy 15-minute walk along the promenade. We’d happily come back and recommend it.

Dinner and breakfast were both delicious, and the staff were good. My single room was spacious and comfortable for the night, with useful amenities. I also used the sauna. Everything was clean. The hotel is in a good spot, just a little way outside town.

The marina is lovely to walk around and seemed pretty safe. We liked the restaurants there more than the ones in the city centre, so it’s worth checking reviews and picking one. The town is about a 15-minute walk away, which worked for us, though it could be a lot in really hot weather. The people here are what make the hotel. Reception were first class, and the rest of the staff were friendly and pleasant. The cleaning team did an amazing job and deserves credit. The rooms were very clean. It feels more like an adult hotel, with few children, which suited us. The pool is excellent, a decent size and depth, though not really for learners. A super hotel for us.

I’m used to staying at Marriott, where I have lifetime Titanium status and spend well over 100 nights a year, so I don’t usually pick Best Western. The Saint-Raphaël hotel surprised us with guest service and room quality that reminded me of more luxurious brands. We were welcomed warmly at reception. There’s a signature scent through the common areas and rooms that feels fresh and relaxing. Our room was spotless, with extra pillows, robes, and a minibar that had a couple of nice wines. The bathroom was modern and clean, with good quality liquid shower soap. They also seem committed to conservation, with a carafe for filling up on purified water by the lift. We used to rent a home a couple of kilometres down the road in Boulouris, and we’re glad we found such a comfortable place. We’ll be back, and hope to try the pool and restaurant next time.
