Hotel de Flore

After a terrible trip from Paris on an overcrowded TGV, with strikes making us seven hours late, we’d missed our hire car. We picked this place more or less at random using some free Wi-Fi we found, and the lovely staff really saved the day. The triple room was reasonably priced, clean, and modern, with a flat-screen TV and a newly fitted bathroom. I’d definitely recommend it. I suspect it’s been refurbished since some of the negative reviews here.

A friendly welcome even when checking in late at night, and the hotel was very clean. The renovated rooms have a nice interior, no unpleasant smell, good quiet air conditioning, a comfortable king-size bed with a comforter, and a nice bathroom. For a reasonable price, this felt like an unexpected gem in the region and a model for three-star hotels in the south of France. The two things that could improve it are a larger rainforest showerhead with more pressure at the valve, and properly working high-speed internet. With those, I’d give this lovely place five stars. Congratulations!

There was no hot water during our stay, so showers were cold. I complained, and the man at reception offered to move us to another room, but the same problem continued. It still hadn’t been fixed by the time we left. I won’t come back.

My husband and I stayed one night, unfortunately on a cold day, and there was no hot water. We complained, but nothing was done to fix it. I’ll never recommend this hotel to my friends.
