Hôtel de l'Esterel Pierre & Vacances

It’s a very nice hotel, though it’s pretty much in the middle of nowhere. I actually see that as a plus, not a drawback.

Don’t book here. The location shown on the hotel’s website took us to a rock, where our driver dropped us off. The actual hotel is kilometres away, nowhere near the train or the beach as advertised. It feels like they use that false location to charge beachfront prices and make it look close to the station. Customer service wasn’t kind either. While I showed the person the address, she insisted no one else had run into the same problem. That wasn’t true: another couple was lost there with me. She lied to my face and didn’t apologize at all. I reported the location to Google because it’s false and fraudulent.

The view was great, but I won’t be back. For years I was a loyal customer, and the pool maintenance noise has finally put me off. The staff said it was normal maintenance, but being woken every morning at 7:00 am by two hours of extremely loud Karcher noise, even on Sunday, is no way to start a holiday. You can judge the video for yourself. Who thinks this is suitable at a holiday resort? I wonder whether Pierre&Vacances board members would accept it on their own holidays. If I were in charge, I’d organize maintenance with guests’ comfort and satisfaction in mind. That just takes common sense. If you want a restful break, I think there are better choices.

The person answering the phone represents the hotel and should do so well. The staff member I spoke with was unfriendly, and I couldn’t even find a number for pierre vacances. I’ve worked in hospitality for 20 years, and I strongly advise the GM to look into this and consider staff training. Maybe they don’t need new customers.
