We weren’t even greeted when we arrived, and each time we passed reception we got the feeling we weren’t welcome. The reception itself is hard to find because the signs are poor. I’ve never experienced such an arrogant, unfriendly atmosphere in a hotel. Guests pay to stay here. It isn’t someone’s private home, and the service should be more professional. Otherwise, the whole place loses its value, which is high anyway.

The location is great, but the place feels dated and has some strange procedures. They take a €250 damage deposit that takes ages to come back, and before checkout a guy inspects your room. He looked under the shower drain and inside the pillowcases. I’ve never had that happen anywhere else. It felt like Fawlty Towers.

There’s a historic feel to the outside of this nice hotel, while the inside is a little older. The rooms have everything you need, including a kitchen and utensils.

There were no mosquito screens, the A/C didn’t work, and service was little to nonexistent. They weren’t accommodating when urgent situations came up. It’s right next to the train station.
