Hotel de l'Image

The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the hotel is well placed for an easy walk to the town attractions. Breakfast was the usual spread of baguettes, croissants and other breads, cheeses, meats, and fruit. The rooms themselves were nothing special, though. The place gave the impression it might once have been a very nice hotel, but now seemed either short-staffed or not especially well maintained. Our room had a sewage smell that lingered, possibly because it hadn’t been used much.

We had a spacious room that felt almost like a small apartment, and it was very quiet. The staff were helpful, breakfast was great, and there was bar service in the evening as well as an onsite restaurant. The hotel sits on a main street in St. Remy de Provence, so it’s easy to reach, with plenty of amenities. There are also good restaurants and shops right across the street, and the area is great for walking.

The grounds are beautiful, the location is amazing, and the staff are really friendly. The rooms are quite small and dated, which I could have lived with, but there were maintenance problems too. It seems there may be management issues, which is a shame because it’s a lovely place with charming people.

Behind the hotel there’s a large, well-kept garden with an English garden-style maze. The hotel itself is in the center of St Rémy, so sights and restaurants are an easy walk away. I had a very positive stay. If you’re there on a Wednesday, the farmers’ market is great to walk around.
