B&B HOTEL Chalon-sur-Saône Sud

A handy place for a short stop. It’s close to the main roads, and you can take the bus into town instead of dealing with parking. There’s also a large supermarket and a fuel station about four minutes away by car.

We’re two girls from Germany, and an accident meant we got to the hotel quite late. The staff member was really friendly and spoke good English. She called the guests who hadn’t arrived yet, which meant we got the last room. We’re very grateful and would recommend the hotel to anyone!

Our car and trailer tent had plenty of room in the free parking behind the building overnight. We also found it easy to walk the dog nearby, and the staff gave us a friendly welcome. The hotel is close to the highway, so it’s a convenient stop on the way south. The family room felt very small for two adults, two teenagers and a dog, though, and the price seemed high for what we got.

The online check-in was convenient, and we could get to our room straight from the parking lot using the door codes. The hotel and room were generally clean. The receptionist was lovely, too. We only met her at breakfast, but she was friendly and professional. The room had a bad smell, so we had to open the window several times. The mattress was on a table as its base, which felt no different from sleeping with it on the floor. Breakfast tasted good, but there wasn’t much of it. I came away disappointed because I’d expected a bit more.
