The resort has good restaurants and nightlife, and shop prices are decent. Les Sybelles has wide, well-prepared slopes, and when I visited with a student ski and snowboard group two years ago, there weren’t many people in late March. Most of the chairlifts are newer ones that slow down at the bottom and top stations. A few are old, but the main slopes are served by the newer lifts. They don’t have wind protectors, though. There are quite a few drag lifts, which can be a pain for snowboarders. You’ll probably stick to the slopes right by your hotel unless you don’t mind using the t-bar links between peaks. A strong recommendation overall.

The walls are very thin, and you need to bring your own bed sheets and toilet paper. Still, for the price, I was satisfied with the location and facilities and would stay here again.

The rooms are cramped and dirty, the beds are horrible, and the pillows are about the size of a tissue. There’s no space beside the bed for a bag, no wardrobe, and the WiFi is bad. You can hear everything the neighbours say. The ski and snowboard lockers are too small for more than four pieces of gear. Never again.

It’s very close to ESF and the ski piste, which is a plus. But the apartment is small: a unit meant for four to six is already very cramped for three. It’s old-fashioned and needs updating. The sofa isn’t comfortable or really suitable for two, so everyone else has to use the dining table seats.
