Peter was such a kind and helpful host. The house is quiet and peaceful, and nicely decorated. My room was spotless and looked out onto a garden. The village is lovely for a morning stroll. Breakfast was simple, but the coffee was strong and the pastries delicious. I really enjoyed my stay.

We had a wonderful night at La Goelette, with a spacious, spotless room and a delicious continental breakfast. There was freshly squeezed orange juice, hot chocolate, and tasty bread and croissants baked locally. Peter showed us around his beautiful, well-kept garden after we admired the patio garden visible from our bedroom window. We hadn’t realized Saint-Suliac was celebrating the summer solstice on Saturday 23rd June. The village was crowded and all the restaurants were booked, so Peter kindly offered to share his evening meal with us. Afterward, we wandered through the pretty village and watched the waterside ceremony, then music, dancing, singing, and a huge bonfire. Peter did so much to make our stay memorable. We highly recommend La Goelette and hope to return soon to see more of Saint-Suliac and the surrounding area. Thank you, Peter!

Whether I'm heading to a business meeting or our holiday home, I always enjoy stopping at La Goelette. Peter is friendly and courteous, always ready to help and have a chat. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and breakfast gets you set for the day. It’s ideally placed in Saint Sulliac, just a short walk from the harbour in a very special village. I’d be glad to recommend it.

We had two lovely nights at La Goelette in July 2016. The family room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. The town is charming, and its two restaurants are quite good. A few practical things: there’s no TV or wifi, and payment is cash only. Breakfast doesn’t start before 8:30 am, even on weekdays, though Peter brought us coffee and tea at 7:30 when we asked.

Clean, comfortable, inexpensive, and well appointed, this is an excellent place to stay while visiting the area. Peter is a great host, calm and with a dry sense of humour that rubs off on you. His morning coffee has earned a spot on my Best Coffees Around the World list.
