The standout for me was how far the woman running the hotel went to help. I wanted to visit the nuclear power plant visitor center in neighboring Paluel, and she said getting a taxi would be too difficult, so she drove me there herself. I’m very grateful for that hospitality. The rooms were reliable and the staff kind. I’d just arrived in France and was running on very little sleep, so any hotel would probably have felt comfortable, but having the restaurant downstairs was convenient, and both dinner and breakfast were good. It was a sleepy time of year for the town in early February, though it seems like it could be cute in summer.

We ate here twice. The first meal was underwhelming, and the second was terrible. My salad was drenched in dressing, with limp brown lettuce and dry, chewy chicken. The eggs were a mess too. It was shoddy and inedible. The chips came in a tiny dish and were barely warm. Really poor.

We enjoyed the good food and generous portions, and the staff were friendly. There’s a great atmosphere and a good spot in the village center. I’d come back and recommend it.

The cafe and restaurant downstairs are beautifully decorated, and the hotel is in the middle of a square full of shops. It’s cute and close to the beach, with excellent local amenities like supermarkets, bakeries and a pharmacy. Our room was small for the price, though big enough for a travel cot, which you have to bring yourself. I only had hot chocolate and a glass of wine. The owner was grumpy about the idea of room service, which we needed because our baby goes to sleep at 7pm. More seriously, the restaurant’s high chair had no safety belt and was broken, with a side bar missing. I didn’t realize until my baby went flying out the side. I caught her just before her head hit the tiled floor. Accidents happen, but when we told the staff, they didn’t seem bothered, and the broken chair was still there the next day. That’s unacceptable.

Terrible, disorganized service. The waiter pushed the dessert menu at us before our main course had even arrived. At the table beside us, a diner got beer spilled all over him because of the waiter’s incompetence. Meanwhile, the manager sat behind the cashier and let the staff run amok. You’d be better off at another restaurant.
