The room was on the small side and a bit dark, but staying here was still a pleasure. The place has wonderful medieval decorations, and there are outdoor spots to sit. We enjoyed the communal continental breakfast, and the owners made us feel very welcome. It's well placed for visiting the local Chateaus, though for the last bit, follow the signs instead of relying on satnav. Tournepique across the bridge serves hearty local food at reasonable prices, with a general store and patisserie nearby. Watch out for balloons!!

The terrace has wonderful views, and breakfast was first class. What a find, with great hosts and lovely accommodation.

The house has a real medieval feel and is steeped in history, while still having all the comforts we expected. Our hosts were warm and put us at ease straight away. Jean-Marc is a real history buff with plenty of anecdotes, and he'll even bring out his guitar if you ask. We had a wonderful time and left promising ourselves we'd be back soon. Highly recommended.

We stayed for a few days in the little house at Lys de Castelnaud, which is a few kilometers from the bed and breakfast rooms shown on their website. You can book it through Airbnb or contact them directly. It was a practical, comfortable place to stay in the Périgord Noir region, and we felt right at home. The location is ideal. The welcome was fantastic, too. We highly recommend it.

The room was clean and the bed very comfortable, in a setting that felt like a lovely change of scenery. A charming couple welcomed us, and we had a wonderful night at Le Lys de Castelnaud. We highly recommend it.
