Hôtel De La Terrasse

The gardens and terrace were lovely, with a view of the sea, and we liked the modern restaurant and its very friendly staff. Our room was pretty but really small and poky for the price, and had no sea view. There isn't much else to do besides walk to the beach, with just one quiet, lonely hotel around.

I regret spending money on this dirty hotel. The room was more like a tiny box than the pictures from booking, with a dirty bed, stained linen that I don't think had been changed, and broken shelves. The bathroom wasn't clean either. WiFi didn't work, the AC was out, and the hair dryer seemed to be there just for show. When I asked the manager at reception about WiFi, he was rude and told me to call the people I'd booked through and ask them. There were no facilities and it was untidy. I would have given zero for everything. I strongly recommend not booking here, or you'll regret it.

A month later, I'm still angry about this horror of an experience. We reserved by email twice, and the owner confirmed we would have terrace seats. When we got there, four staff members were chatting, but nobody greeted or spoke to us. After five minutes, a woman I assume was the owner finally asked, “What do you want?” We showed her the reservation emails, and she took us to a table in a far corner with no view. When we asked why she'd confirmed our reservation, she just said, “Fine, fine, fine! Go, go, go!” and soon started telling us to leave. Unbelievable. Don't come here!

The food was amazing, and the desserts were some of the best I've ever had. We only ate dinner, but the place looked like a great little hotel. It's secluded on the French chalk coast, with a great view and great service.
