Camping les Grenettes

We came in October and had plenty of choice for where to pitch our tent. Water was easy to get to, and the washrooms and showers were excellent. The pool area was a highlight, even though the water isn't heated. At the restaurant, we managed to get a very good meal without a booking, though they did seem short staffed. Our waitress was fantastic. The reception staff were fun to chat with too. One spoke several languages, while the other didn't speak English, so we got to practice our French. Great site, with excellent facilities.

The beach is very close, and we liked the clean campsite, nice pool, and helpful, lovely reception staff. The restaurant was the problem. Staff management seemed very poor, and each time we felt they made it difficult for customers who wanted to spend money on food and drinks. It came across as if they didn't want the business. We kept deciding to go somewhere else, which was a real inconvenience for people staying on site and a missed opportunity for them.

We tried to extend our stay, but there were no bungalows left, which was the biggest disappointment. Everything else was so good: the staff were super, the rooms were clean and had everything we needed, with every little detail thought through. The pool was great, and so was the rest of the infrastructure. I liked it all very much! (I highly recommend).

We stayed in a privilege cottage for 4, which was clean and basic but had what we needed. One thing to know, bed linen and towels need to be rented unless you bring your own, and guests are expected to clean the mobile home at the end unless they pay extra. The pool area was excellent, with two big pools and a smaller splash area for babies and toddlers. There isn't a big slide, despite what some older photos show. It was all new as of June 2024, after the change in ownership. Reception is bright and clean, the staff are friendly, and there are good social spaces and great activities for children. We'd read some pretty negative reviews and were sceptical, but were pleasantly surprised. A perfect base for exploring this stunning island, and bike hire is a must!
