The setting makes for an easy, restful beach holiday. Vague Ocean Marinette Camping in Sainte-Marie-la-Mer has direct beach access, and it’s a handy base for seeing the Pyrénées-Orientales. Our mobile home was clean, equipped with what we needed, and tucked under pine trees, which helped in the summer heat. The pool, snack bar, and regular entertainment are useful for families with kids. Staff were friendly, and the facilities were well kept. It’s peaceful and relaxed, with a nice mix of nature, beach, and convenience.

There aren’t enough washroom facilities for the number of campers, and with so much use and too little cleaning, the toilets smell bad. Men and women share the same toilet and shower area, without a divider. There’s no hot water for showers.
