La Belle Aurore

The room was great, and most of the staff were kind and friendly. But we had to leave at 6:45, and the man at the front desk said we couldn’t check out until we paid, even though he couldn’t take our money. I left a note saying I’d pay online, but he said that wasn’t an option. Our Uber was waiting to take us to the airport, and we almost missed our flight because they wouldn’t let us leave. When I said I was going to go, he threatened to call the police over the unpaid bill, even though we offered to pay then or online. We did everything we could to pay and get going, but he had to call his boss. This policy was absolutely garbage and ruined the whole stay. They need to let guests pay the full amount online or have someone at the desk who can take payment. I’ve never felt so close to being kidnapped, since I couldn’t leave of my own free will.

The free private parking and genuinely friendly welcome were a lovely start, but the pool was the standout: five-star quality and open around the clock. It’s a small family-run place, so don’t expect the feel of a chain hotel. For a beach stay, that’s exactly what makes it better. The location is fantastic. You can walk into the village, take the green boat across to St. Tropez, and skip the stress of driving, then catch the sunset on the ride back.

We’ll be back. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and the food and wine were excellent. Breakfast and lunch at the restaurant were both great, with wonderful views over the Gulf of St Tropez.

We came in mid-season and found it peaceful and lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the fish menu we had was wonderful and worth the price.
