We were excited about staying right by the water, but the visit became a dealbreaker. On a stormy day, waves were hitting the property, making it difficult to get our luggage inside safely. We also saw only one way out, which seemed like a serious safety concern in case of flooding or fire. There was a tunnel beside the property where a man who appeared to be homeless was drinking. That unsettled us, but we were still willing to stay. Then, while we were relaxing, a rat ran across the kitchen table, down a leg, and into the utility closet. We were shocked and didn't manage to take a photo. I work in healthcare and couldn't stay in a unit with rats, given the diseases they can spread through fleas, including bubonic plague. We messaged the hosts right away; their prompt reply came across as sarcastic and dismissive. They acted as if rats were to be expected because it was by the beach. We packed up and carried our luggage back to the car, then booked a clean, safe hotel without people loitering outside. When we returned to check that we had all our belongings, another rat was already rummaging in the trash. The host apparently arrived soon afterward and said they hadn't seen any rats, even though we'd sent multiple pictures of droppings. They invited us to come back but refused to refund us despite the rat infestation.

A great spot for watching people go by with an aperitif. The staff are really friendly, and the galette was one of the best I've ever eaten. Just right for relaxing and enjoying yourself.

We loved this cozy little haven between the land and the sea, fully equipped and such a change of scenery. Camille was so helpful and greeted us with a smile. Lou Cabanou felt magical, and we'll be back soon to share its little wonders with friends.

You can park easily in the lot above, then settle into this fantastic cabin at Loucabanou, right by the water. There are hardly any places where you can have this kind of stay so close to the sea. It took real courage to build rooms here. No traffic noise, just waves. We'll be back! 🙏

The cabins are packed close together in a building that isn't clean or appealing, and the rooms are small, with tiny terraces and no privacy. If you're in the first cabin, other guests have to pass right by to leave or go swimming. The little beach is barely usable without your own gear, and each room only gets two loungers. The gates from the parking area and beach are left open, so anyone can come in. We saw someone go down to urinate on the beach, and other people taking photos of the cormorants on the rocks. I'd hoped to sleep with the window open and hear the sea, but I decided to lock it because the place is so accessible. Online, the property looks like paradise. In reality, it's under a parking lot next to a very busy, noisy road, in old boat garages renovated with materials that don't seem good enough for the price. It could have been nice if I could have got past all that. A quick swim away from the crowds might work if you only look out to sea and cover your ears, but I wouldn't recommend it for value for money.
