The house itself is beautiful and in a very quiet spot. But if you want good service, avoid this place. Everything I’ve written is true, including that it’s a beautiful house. We were there for a week, and the pool was cleaned just once, only after we asked, despite the promise of daily cleaning. The rental advertised two refrigerators, but there was only one when we arrived. We were told the second was broken, and no compensation or other solution was offered. We were a group of 14, so this was a real inconvenience. The Wi-Fi is practically nonexistent across the whole 200 square meters. Even the smartphones don’t work there, so don’t bother bringing them. And for a good night’s sleep, the advertised “super comfortable” bedding doesn’t deliver. You get slatted bed bases and mattresses only 15 cm thick. If you read Carole Épinette’s 5/5 review, where she responds to this negative review as the property owner, I’ll leave you to decide for yourselves about her good faith and attempt to blame others for the gap between the rental’s quality and the service actually provided. Madam, unpleasant as they are, negative reviews need to be considered so you can draw conclusions and reflect on your own practices. A word to the wise.

The house is beautiful, but the owners live there during your vacation, and no one mentioned that. There was a serious lack of communication and courtesy. Two refrigerators were advertised, but we found just one, with the second supposedly broken. We hadn’t been told in advance. The pool is fantastic when it’s clean and filled. Wi-Fi, though, is simply nonexistent because the router is in the owner’s living quarters. If you work remotely or just want to get online, it’ll be difficult.

We came in winter, so we made more use of the inside than the pool. Carole gave us a wonderful welcome. She’s cheerful, attentive, and has a great sense of humor. The care put into the decor, furniture, restoration of the buildings, and bathrooms makes this a lovely, high-quality gîte with a warm feel and room to find your own space. Thanks, Carole.

For €3800 a week, we expected better. The owners live on site, and it’s a semi-detached house, something that seems minor but isn’t mentioned anywhere. Noise clearly isn’t welcome. Our meals tend to run long, but laughter and a midnight swim were out of the question. We felt watched the whole week. Eating outside was a challenge, too. The house is surrounded by lush vegetation, but the terrace is full of hornets, wasps, bees, and ants. You’d need a beekeeping suit and insect repellent to eat there, and I wouldn’t let children use it. The pool is tucked into the greenery, so leaves and branches keep falling in. That wouldn’t be an issue with daily cleaning, but the robot vacuum only came once a week. The furniture was described as expensive and high quality, but was it IKEA? The kitchen wasn’t practical. There was just one old fridge that didn’t cool properly, so we had to put food on top of the cupboards, which hadn’t been wiped in ages. The living room had a battered vintage leather sofa. The Wi-Fi was little to nonexistent, even though it was listed as available, so expect to be cut off from the world out here. There were lots of reminders about switching off lights, conserving energy, and limiting water. It felt like a mix of environmentalism and stinginess. I don’t recommend this rental. In response to Ms. Epinette: water restrictions without a prefectural decree? Strange, especially while you were watering your plants. Try telling children aged 2 to 8 not to play in the water. Hahaha, maybe you don’t have children or spend much time with them. Keeping a permanent swimming pool is already quite incompatible with ecology and water conservation. Trendy fake environmentalist, people who want to live close to nature don’t have pools. We rent properties regularly, and in several years this is the first time we’ve been so disappointed. I don’t need your advertising. You can give all the answers you like to justify yourself, but you don’t live up to your own standards. I regret not taking pictures of the supposed quality furniture and the pool, because your photos are a bit outdated. We simply don’t share the same values.
