Hôtel les Rizières

I booked this place because of the reviews and arrived with my two children, but was shocked by what we found. The bathroom was basically falling apart, the safe didn’t work, and during the 20 minutes we stayed we saw so many rats and rat babies that we left for somewhere else. The staff were polite but didn’t understand any English. We still had to pay full price for both nights even though we stayed elsewhere. I can’t recommend this at all.

Parking is right in front of your room, and the price is fair. The optional breakfast costs 10.-€ per person and is definitely good value. A lovely Mas with everything you need for a visit to Les Saintes Maries de la Mer.

Les Rizières felt like bad value for money, too expensive for what the facilities and service offer. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is extremely old, practically in ruins, with not even a hook for the handheld shower. Although the pool is advertised as heated, the water was so cold last week that we couldn’t use it. There aren’t facilities like a playground or restaurant. The place is a few kilometres before Sainte Marie de la Mer, which turned out to be a downside for us, since you have to drive to get anywhere. Walking along the main road definitely isn’t recommended.

Everything was great, and the owners were so helpful. The perfect spot. I’d love to come back.
