Les Cigalous

We came for just two nights in the off season, when it was very quiet, but this place seems better suited to a longer visit. There's a bar, pool, volleyball court, barbecue and play area for children. Bring your own sheets and towels, or you can rent them. The bunk-bed room felt more like a closet.

The accommodation itself was very good, but I came expecting a relaxing weekend at a retirement home where I could enjoy the facilities, and that didn't happen. The pool wasn't heated because it was apparently too expensive for the owner. The children's entertainment facilities weren't available, and there was no bartender at the bar, so we had to go elsewhere for a drink. Honestly, what a shame.

We had a really warm welcome at Les Cigalous, and the cottages have the things we needed, including a dishwasher, air conditioning and a griddle. We stayed for a week and loved the location, with a walk to the river and little shops just across the street. The small complex feels sociable, but there's still lots of space around the pool and in the shared areas, including the games room, trampoline, volleyball court, pétanque court and ping-pong tables. Thanks to the managers for being so helpful and for the advice, and especially for the great Wednesday evening meal. We'd happily come back.
