Before going to bed, you can walk around the main landmarks of the city. You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the hotel — Jaysinia Alpine Botanical Gardens, Samoens Ski Resort and Grand Massif Express Gondola.

One of our favorite days out was going up to col du joux plan, but the bus has been cancelled. That leaves tourists without the chance to ski or walk at the Col. It seems Samoens doesn’t want to encourage tourists.

The views are dramatic. If you’re planning to eat out during half term, book well ahead, since most places are fully booked a week in advance.

This charming village is a pleasure to visit with family, in summer or winter. There’s plenty to do, and nothing felt missing. You can enjoy nature, hiking, rafting, cycling, and waterfalls. I highly recommend it.
