Hostellerie La Farandole

The breakfast was a letdown. The selection wasn't impressive, and although we'd paid for breakfast, extra eggs cost another €3. We went elsewhere and enjoyed it much more. We stayed at Hostellerie La Farandole from 27-29 December, and the room was freezing in the middle of winter because the heater wasn't working. They gave us a separate heater, but that isn't what we expected from a 4-star hotel. The toilet amenities were sparse and weren't replaced daily, and when I asked for a shower cap, they didn't have one. On 28 December, we saw that no water had been replenished in the room. The front desk told us it was only replenished every two days, which also felt unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. The stay didn't meet our expectations, and we wouldn't recommend it. It wasn't worth its 4-star rating.

You can step straight onto a beautiful beach from the hotel, with calm water and rentals for water sports. Shops are a short walk away, and town is walkable too. We loved staying here. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with an amazing shower, and everyone on staff was friendly and spoke excellent English. The breakfast buffet was incredible.

The beach right in front of the hotel was beautiful, and probably the cleanest and quietest in the area. Since the road down is private, it doesn't get too busy, mostly locals within walking distance and hotel guests. Bandal and Sanary are both about a 10 minute drive away, with lovely coastal town settings and great restaurants. We had a fantastic stay, with a great location, very friendly staff, and exceptional service. I'll definitely come back. One caveat: I wouldn't recommend restaurant le panoramic above the hotel. It was the worst meal of our holiday and cost more than even the Michelin star restaurants in town. That restaurant has nothing to do with the Hotel, though, and doesn't reflect the hotel's excellent service.

The setting is special, with a public beach out front and lovely views of the Mediterranean. We were there for a weekend wedding, and our rooms were kept very clean. The buffet meals were perfect. Getting to the hotel from public transportation meant walking uphill and downhill, which was the only drag, but a small price to pay for that location.
