Les Colonnes

Our room was lovely, and although we told them we'd arrive late, the receptionist made sure it would be ready for us in perfect condition. The hotel is a little dated, sure, but well looked after and that's part of its charm. We'll definitely come back here instead of choosing another hotel on the port, where prices are extremely high for the quality you get. Thank you.

It's right in the heart of the city, which is ideal, but there is no parking except the municipal car park 200m away. The patio could be pleasant, but it hasn't been cleaned in quite some time. How does this place have 3 stars? The rooms are on the 3rd floor, reached by a narrow, steep staircase, with no elevator. The furniture is old, and there's only one armchair, no other chairs. There are just two hangers in the wardrobe. The bathroom is ancient and has no shower curtain, and only one of the two chandeliers works. On the landing there's an exposed electrical wire and a broken light switch. Not worthy of 3 stars. Avoid it.

Parking was a nightmare. The hotel has no car park, and the paid one they recommended, just a few metres away, was full that day. I drove around for an hour and found nowhere to park, even nearby. Good luck finding a space. The hotel is well located and comfortable, and the staff are friendly, but housekeeping needs to improve. There was hair in the bathroom when we arrived. That's unpleasant in any hotel, 3 stars or not.

They gave us breakfast, apparently as an apology, after telling us on arrival that we'd been downgraded. We'd booked a comfort room well in advance for two nights, but got a standard room on the 3rd floor with no elevator instead. This really isn't a hotel I'd recommend for seniors. It was peak season, there were no other rooms available in Sanary, so we had to stay. The breakfasts were very mediocre, with low quality food and even bad bread, though we know Sanary well and know there are excellent bakeries. The hotel doesn't deserve 3 stars as it is. It needs to be refreshed and modernized. If you have another option, don't stay here.
