Le bélouga

We loved the bright rooms and the sea view in this beautiful two-room apartment. It’s well equipped, with a private way to the beach, a private dune and a terrace, and the beach is only 50 metres away. Our hostess and host were very friendly. We’ll definitely come back again.

From the raised seating area at the back, we could watch the sea and the ferries going between Calais and Dover. That clever feature was one of our favourites. The apartment is right by the seafront, comfortable, and furnished with real style. Everything felt carefully thought through, from the quality bedding to the dishwasher and Dyson stick vacuum, which both worked perfectly. We already love this area. There are several walking trails from Sangate to the white chalk cliffs of Cap Blanc Nez, and at low tide it’s lovely to stroll along the sandy beach. Balouga made a wonderful place to come back to, and we’d love to stay again.

My partner and I spent two nights and three days here in August, enjoying the peace and quiet right beside the sea. From the first-floor apartment in Sangatte, you can open the balcony window and have breakfast to the sound of the waves. The sunset was magnificent, changing every 20 seconds and dazzling us through the golden and blue hours. The sand is a minute’s walk away, so a swim or a stroll is right there whenever the mood strikes. What a wonderful place, and such a warm welcome!

This was my second stay, and it’s still my number one rental. Everything gets a 10/10 from me, from the location and apartment to the cleanliness and all the thoughtful details. I love this place so much 🫶🏻
