Le Petit Manoir

The rooms were modern and well equipped, a lovely surprise behind the charming historic exterior. The breakfast choices were simple but more than enough, and the dining area had a wonderful atmosphere. I especially appreciated manager Eric’s kindness. My wife and I wanted to sit outside, but every outdoor table was taken, so he moved a table and chairs out from inside for us. We came to Sarlat for a friend’s wedding, knowing nothing about the city, and choosing this hotel turned out to be the best decision of the trip. I arrived at midnight, very late on check-in night. The hotel sent clear instructions through hotels.com for checking in at a nearby partner hotel instead of calling to hurry me along. The night staff there got everything done in under five minutes, walked me to my hotel, and explained how to reach the associated parking lot. They even called afterward to make sure I’d found it. With such friendly, attentive staff, I’d absolutely recommend staying here for a night.

I stayed in Josephine Baker and it was amazing. The hotel and its pool area are beautiful, the location is right in the town center, and breakfast was lovely. It was so relaxing. You can’t park at the hotel, and with the stairs and walking, it isn’t suitable for people with mobility issues.

The Empress Euginie room was beautiful, with a king bed and a small deck, and we loved staying there. Breakfast had nearly everything we wanted, from eggs, cheese, meats, and breads to cappuccinos from the coffee machine. David at the front desk was friendly and helpful when we checked in, then showed us up the spiral, castle-like stairs. Getting to the room felt like climbing an archer’s turret. The hotel’s medieval stone front and thick wooden castle door made it fun to step back in time. Its location is fantastic, right in the old town, surrounded by shops and restaurants. The town square is just a minute’s walk away for drinks, food, and entertainment. We highly recommend Le Petit Manoir and would definitely stay again.

Eric and Ian were friendly, knowledgeable, and took care of all our dinner reservations. The location was perfect, the room was nicely decorated, and breakfast was delicious. We had a great time!
