Plaza Madeleine Hotel & Spa

The terrace room was a great choice: the pool was just steps from our door, and we still had plenty of privacy outside. The hotel is close to Sarlat's pedestrian area, with comfortable rooms, a heated pool, and helpful, pleasant staff. There's a parking garage too, though it's a flat walk of about 5-7 minutes to get there.

The service really made this stay for me. Thanks especially to Salomé at reception and the guys at the bar for making me feel so comfortable and welcome. It's a modern hotel in a perfect spot in medieval Sarlat, though the rooms do show a little age.

Right at the start of Sarlat's old town, this is a quiet, clean and comfortable little boutique hotel. The rooms are a decent size and the AC works well, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast costs €19 per person. The buffet is limited, so it probably isn't worth that much, though the convenience is part of what you're paying for.

We loved the wine dispenser. You can take your time looking over the wines and tasting a range of them, which made for a lot of fun, and the wine was great. The cherry cocktail at the bar was very good too. Our first trip to Perigord ended up being the highlight of all our trips to France, thanks to Hotel Madeleine. We can't wait to come back. We stayed five nights, longer than we usually stay anywhere, and were glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and valued. The front desk staff are the best. Our first-floor room was opposite the spa, which we used a few times, and the outdoor pool was lovely even when the weather wasn't great. Parking is spacious and secure, a short, pleasant walk away. There are Tesla Destination chargers as well as charging facilities for other EVs. That was the icing on the cake for us, since we could leave the car parked and forget about it for a few days.
