The rooms have good equipment and the location works well, but I got there at 8 on a Sunday evening and found the bar and restaurant shut. They also said alcohol couldn’t be brought to my room, even though the room service menu says it’s available until 10. After a long drive, I’d hoped to unwind a little. This hadn’t happened on my earlier visits, and I won’t be back.

The reception team were lovely and very helpful, which is the only reason I’m giving two stars. The restaurant was a mess. I waited 45 minutes for a chicken poke bowl, and it was inedible. I’m not fussy, especially after work when I just want something to stop me being hungry. It then took another 20 minutes to get the bill, followed by 10 more while they struggled to understand that I wouldn’t pay for food I’d only managed two bites of. The rooms are nice, but far too dark: the main light is on a corner wall, so you can barely see in the morning or evening. Avoid the restaurant.

The staff were super helpful, and there’s plenty of parking, lots of greenery, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was the weak spot: canned fruit and cold pancakes that seemed like they might have come from Lidl or somewhere. I wouldn’t recommend taking breakfast.

The staff handled a really unpleasant scene on our last night as well as anyone could. A group of awful people were stealing food, smashing glasses and leaving litter everywhere. The hotel itself is lovely too, out in the countryside, with a nice spa, a great sauna and roomy accommodation. But the staff were the standout for me, very professional. Thanks!

The setting is lush and green, and the parking felt secure. We had the suite, which was spacious and worked perfectly for four people. It was clean and well equipped, and the staff were especially friendly and helpful, clearly making an extra effort.
