We had breakfast outside, and the curved staircase at the front of the building is such a distinctive feature. The property has real character, with a pool and a big park that gives it a country feel, even though it's right on the edge of busy Saumur.

Our tower room had everything we needed, and the large pool was beautifully kept. The owner is charming, looking after guests warmly but without fuss. With the old trees, inviting garden, and grand house, it feels peaceful despite being near the city. 10 out of 10.

The grounds and building are pleasant, and the room was very large with a comfortable bed. But the welcome was cold and almost military, including being told we had to be back before 11 pm. There were also remarks about charging an electric bike battery and how much it might cost. The room and bathroom felt like a jumble of styles, with personal photos that, to us, don't belong in a rental room. Breakfast was basic and had no savory choices. We felt uncomfortable the whole time, with a heavy atmosphere and a host who was unwelcoming and made snide comments. At 150 euros, the price felt exorbitant.

We've stayed several times, and each time the owner has been warm and welcoming, despite what some other reviews say. The building is lovely, the pool is beautiful, and the rooms are comfortable and very spacious. Superb!
