La Gentilhommiere De Saumur

Oliver made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond. The location is excellent, and his home cooking is outstanding. He’s the perfect host, and we’re definitely going back.

The room was comfortable, and the peaceful surroundings made for a relaxing stay at La Gentilhommière de Saumur. Olivier gave us a warm welcome, stayed attentive and shared helpful advice. We especially enjoyed the delicious homemade breakfast and the swimming pool. It’s an authentic place where you feel at home, and we highly recommend it.

The real highlight is Olivier, the friendly, helpful owner who makes you feel at home and adds so much to your stay. Ask him where to eat and he’ll find the right place for dinner, or stay in and enjoy a home-cooked meal prepared by Olivier at La Gentilhommiere. Behind an unremarkable gate, after walking a few dozen metres, you’re surrounded by greenery. The villa is tastefully decorated with lots of period furnishings. It’s conveniently located, about a 15-minute walk from the centre or five minutes by car.

We spent two nights at Olivier's and came away delighted. The garden, pool, and jacuzzi made it easy to unwind, and Olivier was so kind. He also knows all the good places to eat in Saumur, which was a real bonus. The house itself is magnificent, with tasteful decor.
