Chateau Trillon

The guest house has almost no internet, and cell service is very poor, so come prepared for a digital detox. That aside, I really enjoyed this quiet, romantic château among the vines and other beautiful châteaus. The man who runs it was charming and helped me find my way around Bordeaux.

We booked this as a simple B&B stopover and were pleasantly surprised. The family suite had two rooms joined by bathrooms, and both were spotless, nicely decorated, and in very good shape. We also loved sitting on the terrace at sunset over a good meal. It’s right among the Sauternes vineyards, just a few minutes from Chateau d’Yquem. Best of all were the kind, helpful owners, who made time for us despite being busy. A really honest, welcoming place.

We had a lovely weekend exploring this beautiful area, with good walking nearby and dogs welcome. The rooms were nice, and the food was excellent for reasonable prices. The owner is a great chef, and the wine list is stunning, even by Bordeaux standards. A friendly and helpful place to stay around Langon and Cadillac.

The place looked nice, but we arrived an hour and a half before the stated closing time and they wouldn’t serve us even a glass of wine. The chef was still cooking, and we could see the kitchen from outside.
