The setting is beautiful, and the hosts made us feel very welcome. We came for brunch rather than staying overnight. I had the eggs Benedict, while my husband went for a full English, and we both enjoyed it. They serve afternoon tea too. I’ve tried it before and it was very nice. I can imagine it would be a lovely place to stay.

We’ve been here twice, once for lunch and once for afternoon tea, and the peaceful rural setting is lovely, with its lawns and pretty lake. For tea, we called ahead and the homemade scones and preserves were delicious. For lunch, our group of nine checked the menu and ordered in advance a couple of days beforehand. We ate on the patio, with generous portions and tasty dishes all round. The homemade quiches and Eggs Benedict were especially good. Alison and Mark are friendly, engaging hosts, and we’ll definitely be back.

The tea garden and chambre d'hôtes sit beside a beautifully maintained fishing lake full of huge carp. It’s a stunning spot, and the service and breakfast were both superb. We stopped during a motorbike ride and had two large breakfasts with toast and orange juice, plus a pot of tea and two coffees. It came to 28,50. Alison and Mark are lovely to chat with. John spotted their gin bar, so maybe we’ll come back soon and stay overnight. It seems perfect for any occasion. 😁

The lake is so well stocked it has to be seen to be believed, and the grounds are out of this world. We stayed in the beautiful house, where the rooms were astonishing, spotless and welcoming, with en suites. Mark and Alison were fantastic hosts. The food was amazing, with loads of choice and portions big enough to leave everyone full. Even dropping in for afternoon tea or a mouthwatering cake would be worthwhile. 10/10 from me. Can’t wait to return.

Mark and Alison are a smashing couple, and the setting is wonderfully peaceful. We stopped in for afternoon tea today and had a lovely time. It’s a great place to eat, stay or fish. We’ll definitely be back.
