Logis Hôtel Du Dauphin

Dinner was fantastic, with little surprises between courses, and breakfast was unusual in a good way, homemade by the owner and brought right to the table. Our hosts were wonderful. The place is quaint and lovely, even if the decor feels a bit old-fashioned. We were there for just one night.

The owners were lovely and made us feel very welcome. Our spacious bedroom had a huge, very comfortable bed, and the hotel had excellent facilities with thoughtful touches throughout. It's a beautifully decorated historic hotel in the Normandy style. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, with a huge choice and everything homemade. Breakfast was among the best I've had, with homemade jams, preserves, bread, and even yogurt. So much to choose from.

So peaceful, like being out in the countryside, though the hotel is right on place des Halles. The room was very comfortable, and the classic French cooking was superb. Breakfast came with home-baked brioches and homemade jams. A real gem, and places like this seem harder to find.

I ended up in Sees because of car trouble, and was glad to finally get to experience a French provincial town with its magnificent cathedral. The hotel sits in the centre and has gorgeous 1940s decor from a bygone era. Walking around, you half expect soldiers or tanks to roll down the streets, as if the town were caught in a WWII time warp.
