The view was beautiful, though getting here seemed to require a cab, so I gave the location four stars. After a day hiking, the jacuzzi and sauna were welcome. I wish the jacuzzi had been hotter, but the jets gave a great post-hike massage. Our room slept three, with a double bed and bunk beds; it had a nice shower and sink, while the toilet was shared down the hall. The place felt whimsical and cozy, like stepping into a Keebler elf’s home, in a good way. I especially liked the family-style dinner, where we met other guests and swapped stories. The food was great, and my favourite was the French toast at breakfast, though I had to eat it in a hurry before the next day’s hike. The hostess was a Ukrainian woman and incredibly kind. I wish her the best.

The sauna and hot tub were just right after a day on the slopes, and we loved having a shared lounge to relax in during the evenings. My husband and I spent four wonderful nights at La Ferme D’Angele. We hadn’t booked ahead and simply knocked on the door, where Valerie gave us the warmest welcome. We fell for the cozy farmhouse chalet straight away. The decor is stunning, combining alpine style with lovely antiques and lots of beautiful carpets and rugs. Our bedroom had thoughtful finishing touches and a super-comfy bed. The freshly prepared food was delicious and plentiful. We were told a cheaper room rate may be available by booking directly instead of through bookings.com. Thanks to Valerie and Luba for looking after us so well. We’ll definitely return!

Dinner was a highlight: Valérie made a home-cooked meal served family-style, like eating in a warm country kitchen. I hadn’t mentioned my dietary restriction in advance, but she kindly put together a vegetarian dish for me at the last minute. Since she prepares everything herself with care, future guests should tell her about special dietary needs ahead of time. The place is bohemian, rustic and full of character, with a peaceful, cozy feel tucked away from the world. From the moment Valérie greeted us at La Ferme d’Angèle, we could tell it would be a special stay. It isn’t a typical hotel, so come with an open mind for something a little different. We loved every minute and can’t wait to return.
