La Ruche Chambres d'hôtes

The river view from our little room was exceptional, and we kept the window open at night to enjoy the setting. We only stayed one night, though we wished we could have stayed longer. After a long day driving around to view properties, we arrived late and exhausted, but Amanda made us feel welcome straight away. She's warm and professional, a wonderful hostess. The room was small but lovely, with chic, comfortable furnishings and smart use of space. We wondered if she might have worked in interior design or styling. Breakfast was fabulous, with plenty of fresh fruit and all the usual choices. This gorgeous chambre d'hote is such good value for the price. Book it, or you'll regret missing out.

The food at the auberge in Ségur le Chateau was awful. The chicken was bloody and undercooked, the chips were so bad even the dog wouldn't eat them, and the pork was very fatty. The waitress came across as pompous too. I wouldn't recommend eating here at all, and don't think it's fit to be a restaurant.

Amanda welcomed us so warmly. The food was simple, tasty, and very reasonably priced, and the surroundings are beautiful. There were classic cars there today as well.

Really good meal and service, and the place was clean, friendly, and relaxing. I'll definitely come back.
