The restaurant dinner was excellent, with attentive staff, and breakfast had the usual buffet spread with lots to choose from. I found the room comfortable, and there’s a supermarket about a five-minute walk away. I stayed one night while cycling the Rhine route. Check-in is self-service, with the details sent the day before, and nobody was there when I arrived; staff come in when the restaurant opens at 7 pm. Good value.

The staff were lovely and looked after us well, and we really enjoyed the amazing breakfast. We stayed four nights at Hôtel des Bois for a family wedding. The lodging was well priced, and the garden was a nice place for us to relax together. The supermarket and pharmacy are just across the road.

We won't be coming back. Our friends had booked a follow-up weekend for all of us, called twice to confirm the reservation, and stopped by to confirm it in person as well. Two weeks later, when we arrived in town and called from the restaurant where we were having dinner to say we'd check in afterward, the owner told us he'd double-booked our rooms and couldn't accommodate us. He had arranged a room for us at a nearby hotel, but when we got there, we found he'd made no offer to cover the stay, give us a discount, or compensate us for the trouble. Based on our experience, I'd advise anyone booking here to keep in mind that overbooking could leave you without lodging.

The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, and the hosts give personal service that feels five-star. The prices are reasonable. Don't just drive past, drive in.
