L'Horizon Vert

The meals at "L'Horizon Vert" were a real highlight. Breakfast and dinner were both excellent, with generous, varied, and imaginative cooking from the hostess, using produce from her garden and a few local producers. The shared meals with the other guests had a warm, sociable feel. We met a lovely couple who come back every year. The setting is wonderfully quiet, on the edge of a hamlet of seven or eight houses, beside the woods and surrounded by nature. From there, you get a beautiful 180° view over the countryside and the hills of southern Haute-Loire, while several medieval villages are close enough to visit. This is a charming old stone building, completely renovated. The rooms are bright, comfortable, spotless, and tastefully decorated. With just two guest bedrooms, the house also has little lounges, peaceful corners, and a lovely garden. The welcome is thoughtful and attentive, and the check-in and check-out times are flexible. It felt like being at home. We were so taken with the place that we hope to return soon.
