B&B HOTEL Metz Semécourt

Quiet spot with free parking and fast food nearby. Fine for a night, though the room was small and the bathroom felt very cramped.

The safe parking right outside is a real plus, and there’s even a little grass nearby. I’ve stopped here several times on long drives with my dogs, and it’s always been easy. It’s a basic place, but has what I need for an overnight stay and is close to the motorway. The staff are consistently kind and helpful, and I’ve always been welcomed warmly.

We got there at 4 am after a 10 hour drive, and just wanted to sleep, but a worker banged on our door once we’d reached the room. It was a miserable start. The hotel wasn’t showing as an available place on Maps, so we had to ask some kind locals for directions. Using the 24 hr service to pay was confusing, and when we finally got through it only offered one room for the four of us, even though we needed two. The room we had was dirty, with crumbs on the floor and dirt on the bed and pillows. At 11 am we went for hot chocolate, and the worker challenged us about whether we’d paid for breakfast, even though we had. We took the drink and left. We’d only been there seven hours.

The room was tidy and housekeeping did a good job. The workers were super friendly and helpful, which made the place better than it otherwise felt. It’s fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep, with very basic comfort for an okay price.
