Auberge de villechaume

The four rooms we booked were in terrible shape. The bathrooms were filthy, and one room was missing sheets for both beds. I was also charged twice what the rooms cost on booking sites, and everything had to be paid in cash. An URSSAF inspection might be worthwhile. I’d booked the hall for a birthday and was supposed to get the keys the day before so I could decorate. Instead, I didn’t get them until the following afternoon, and the room was filthy. When the guests arrived, it still wasn’t ready or properly heated. The fireplace had been lit far too late. Avoid this place.

The food was delicious, and the place was peaceful and pleasant. We had a wonderful stay at the Auberge de Villechaume. From the friendly welcome to the end of our visit, everything felt perfect. I highly recommend it.

We had a lovely day using the hall for our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Being able to gather by the fire gave us room to move around, which was especially nice with children, unlike the constraints of a traditional restaurant. The decor is rustic, but that suits a country inn and adds to its charm. You can bring decorations and move things around to make the space your own. The owner is easygoing as long as nothing gets damaged.

The spa and pool were a real place to unwind, and breakfast had plenty of variety with fresh, high-quality food. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotless. We were warmly welcomed, and the staff were professional and attentive throughout. A perfect five-star stay, I’d recommend this hotel without hesitation.
