The Chateau is a masterpiece of style and decoration, and Emmanuel welcomed us with a big smile and proudly showed us around. Built in begun in 1214 as a Templar fort, it fell into disrepair in the 18th century. In 1960, the new owner, a painter and artist, began a complete renovation that took 50 years, lovingly and lavishly decorating every room, ceiling, and wall. Be sure to take one of the guided tours at 3:00 or 4:00. This is one of the most special places we’ve ever stayed. Don’t miss it if you’re in the area. Five stars!

The continental breakfast was generous and beautifully presented, and the huge rooms have been restored perfectly. In the four-poster bed, we felt like a king and queen. It was a truly unique and memorable stay in an 800-year-old Chateau. If you’re nearby to visit the wineries and scenic medieval villages, don’t hesitate to stay in this wonderful castle. Fantastic place. Pretty rooms, an astonishing view, and a cool bed. You can sit on museum-like furniture, and a guide and breakfast are included. Your wife won’t be disappointed. Excellent.

As good as it gets for a historic place to stay. The family has been restoring this grand “castle” for 2 generations, and the work is still ongoing. The owner is a real character, full of passion. There’s plenty of history here.

Poor site management. We had passed by before, checked the opening ours, and planned to visit the next day. There was no notice at the castle’s front gate that it would be closed that day. Our 2-hours-drive the next day was for nothing. Visiting the castle seems like a lottery. I can’t recommend it.
