The room was spotless, and the wine list was really good. The food was more mixed: the soup and starters were simple, the chicken main was badly overcooked, and the beef plat de cote (short ribs) was too tough and chewy. It shouldn't have been served like a medium rare steak.

We always look forward to coming back here, and make a point of visiting whenever we’re in the area. The food is beautifully prepared, with delicate combinations of flavors, and the wines are excellent. The owners are very friendly and eager to help. They’re very knowledgeable and speak perfect English, German, and of course French.

The dessert and wine were good, but I left hungry and found the rest of the meal disappointing. My grilled vegetables with rice were okay, though the portion was so small. There was no fish dish the day I visited, and the restaurant really wasn’t suitable for vegetarians or anyone who doesn’t eat meat. There was no free tap water, which is usual in France. The menu starter was just a tomato slice with oil and basil, nothing special and, to me, not a proper starter. The soup seemed to have no seasoning at all, no salt or pepper.

There were five of us, and we all had a delightful time. The hosts were wonderful, and the food and wine were marvelous. No complaints, we’d highly recommend it.

It’s always a pleasure to come here. The food is good, healthy, and home cooked.
