We never even checked in, but were charged the entire booking fee after having to cancel. Sète was full of construction work and road closures made it impossible to reach the hotel. In the months after we booked, the hotel never contacted us about the closures or suggested another route. We spent two hours driving around the narrow one-way streets in 40-degree heat, unable to find another way in, before giving up and calling to cancel. The receptionist offered to pick us up if we could park and tell her where we were. There was nowhere to park in town, though, and by then we’d already spent five hours driving south, followed by two stressful hours in a town full of roadworks. My wife was crying from the stress and frustration. After calls and emails with booking.com, the hotel curtly said it was our problem and they would keep the full €475. There was no discussion or sympathy. It felt like, “Screw you, we’ve got your money.” It was a terrible experience. I hope anyone reading this chooses somewhere else instead of spending their valuable vacation time and money at a business that treats customers with utter contempt.

A lovely place, and the owner takes pride in showing you around and sharing tips for your stay. It was comfortable, clean, and not expensive.

I liked the room’s little details, and the pool was nice. The location is excellent and the service was good. A good place to stay, I recommend it.
