We loved the quiet, peaceful feel and being able to head out for walks with our dog straight from the property. Across the lagoon, we explored Peyriac de Mer, and we’d happily come back for more wandering and another plate of Leucate oysters. Denys was kind, too. The water’s edge terrace is a lovely place to unwind, with plenty of tables, chairs and loungers, a lemon tree courtyard, and even a beached boat where we had the occasional drink at sunset. There’s a plancha and BBQ for cooking the morning’s catch from the neighbouring fishermen. Indoors, it’s very well equipped, including a whole drawer of cutlery for preparing seafood.

Denys was always available to help or offer advice, and the house has everything you could need. It’s been lovingly restored, with care given to even the smallest details. The Étang de Sigean looks stunning at any time of day. Such a beautiful home, especially if you’re after complete peace and seclusion. Simply wonderful.

We had a lovely stay thanks to our welcoming host, who was helpful and went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. The house sits right by the water in a quiet spot, with magnificent sunsets. Beaches and lots of other things to do are only a short drive away.

Such a beautiful place to relax. There was plenty of space for two couples without children, or for one couple with children. We enjoyed reasonably priced sea bream that had been caught that morning. If you’re sensitive to mosquitoes like I am, remember to bring repellent. I recommend it.
