The large car park opposite the residence is, according to what I've seen and heard, a serious problem at night: street racing, drug dealing, knife threats, shouting, and loud music that goes on all night. Cars speed around, sometimes racing in front of children, and some residents have had their cars damaged. Modified exhausts make even more noise, like fireworks. People are at their wits' end, and some have moved away. Those who've tried to intervene have reportedly been threatened with knives. You may pay for a sea view and then have to keep every veranda and window shut because you can't sleep. People are smoking drugs, but the municipal police only come when they can, and there are no checks or fines, as far as I can tell. I think BFM aired a report about this two years ago. The mayor has lived here since the 1990s and, residents say, won't act because he doesn't want to move the problem elsewhere. He doesn't speak to us and seems not to know what to say, though he's a member of the Republicans party. He flatters and invites retirees to events to protect his electorate. This is about the safety of our children and families. The building manager has tried everything, including a meeting with the mayor, police, member of parliament, and prefect. Solutions exist, but the mayor is waiting for a tragedy that could happen soon. This is weak policy, letting a beautiful city become lawless and unenforced. Yet park badly and you'll get a fine. It's madness.

We didn't use the residence's paid pool because the beach is just a 100-meter walk away. The shared areas are kept in great shape, from the plants and indoor common spaces to the three pétanque courts and the garbage room. We've stayed here every summer for three years and haven't been disappointed. The small apartment has a nice, quiet terrace, parking, and a secure residence. It's handy for getting around: Toulon is 20-25 minutes away, Sanary 10 minutes, and Bandol 15. Intermarché, with a washing machine, is a 5-minute drive, while the bakery and tobacconist are a 10-minute walk. The port of Six-Fours, where you can rent jet skis, is 5 minutes on foot. We'll be back next year, with family or friends.

I remember this as the residence of my childhood, so lively back then. Now it feels so boring. The apartments are well located, but using the pool, which used to be the meeting place, costs extra. Swimsuits are required, towels end up on the floor, and there are only 3 to 5 loungers outside the pool area, also at extra cost. With all the restrictions it feels more like a municipal pool than a holiday resort, which might explain it. One star for what I experienced.

We've come to this lovely residence every summer for years, but this past week our sleep has been badly disrupted. People shout and honk, then do stunts around the roundabout with tires squealing until dawn. We reported it to the police, but nothing has improved.
