Maison D'hôtes Du Landersbach

Jean-Marie really looks after his guests, and his baeckehoffe is absolutely worth the detour!! The building is beautiful, and the rooms were spotless, with thoughtful decor and lovely little details. I came away feeling rested and back in harmony, it was such a pleasure to find that peace again. Thank you 🙏

We spent six relaxing, pleasant days here. Breakfast was served at a big table, and the owner suggested where everyone should sit, which made it easy to have some nice conversations with the other guests. Alongside the usual food, there was a delicious Alsatian Gugelhupf (Bundt cake). Eggs were presumably available if requested. The hotel and its spacious rooms have a lovely atmosphere.

We spent two nights and three days at this bed and breakfast, and it was just what we expected. The owner was friendly, the place was beautiful, and we had a very pleasant stay.

The cottage is beautiful and well equipped for a nice stay with family or friends, but we were disappointed by how constantly present the owner seemed during our four days there. He lives right across the street, about three meters from the cottage, and it felt as though he was watching what we did. Step outside and you were bound to bump into him. He’d call out things like, “Watch out, there’s an ashtray!” or, “Watch out, a bedroom window’s been left open!” With no shutters, he could see the cottage, and we could see his house too. There’s also a function room on the ground floor that the owner can access, with a door opening straight into the cottage’s entrance hall by the stairs leading to the entrance. On New Year’s Eve, he turned up without warning or telling anyone, around 1:00 AM, carrying a flashlight. That felt like a breach of our privacy and of the right to occupy the home.
