Saint Jacques

Comfortable and clean, with a fair price.

The room was spacious, and the old building has been renovated and kept very clean. We enjoyed the peaceful location. The friendly receptionist gave us useful information, and the room had thoughtful extras like a magnifying mirror, safe, and hairdryer. We’d definitely come back if we’re in the area again.

There’s a great common area with a fridge, TV, computer, and vending machine for drinks and snacks. The hotel is nicely located, with pleasant, professional staff. Our room and bathroom were both large, very clean, and well equipped. The pool stays open for long hours and is rarely, if ever, crowded. We’d be happy to return.

The refrigerator, microwave, and freezer in the lobby lounge were useful for guests who want to shop and eat on the small terrace. But the owner has a salesman's smile, and for four days there were just two sad green kiwis, overripe and nearly rotting. I can imagine how they tasted. Also, I scrunched up a small towel and left it soaking wet in the shower, but it wasn’t dirty. I hadn’t used it on my hands. Still, I found it drying on the hook. I’m careful about water even in hotels, and reuse the same towel unless there’s a special reason not to.
