La Maison de Souhey

There were lots of activities for both the kids and us, and Michel and Ansa were caring, delightful hosts. The house has real charm and is beautiful, while still offering all the modern comforts. It made for a lovely, luxurious countryside stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

The food was even better than the lovely hosts, and we had such a great fall weekend here. Merci!

The indoor pool is huge and heated, and the beds were really comfortable. We rented the loft, a spacious, luxurious room with a foosball table, pinball machine and arcade game, so there was plenty to enjoy. The rooms are beautiful and large, and from the moment we arrived the view was magnificent and peaceful, with horses we could pet. Breakfast was delicious, with pastries, hot drinks and homemade jams. We also had an excellent dinner with our hosts, made with fresh local ingredients. We planned to cook for ourselves during our three nights in the Amour room, but once Michel said he’d prepare a meal for guests each day, we ended up eating at Michel’s every night. What a culinary find. We spent two and a half weeks travelling around France, and I came away with more food inspiration from here than from anywhere else on the trip. The room itself is lovely, with wide open views and such a peaceful setting. We’d absolutely like to return. I’d suggest visiting in the off-season, you won’t be disappointed.
