The setting is pleasant, though it’s right on the main road through town. The waiters are nice, but service was slow and the portions were on the small side. The meals felt overpriced, and the drinks were similarly steep.

The restaurant was the one good part of our visit: the service was warm, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the food was good. The hotel itself was a letdown for somewhere with its star rating. Our double room at Hotel La Promenade had a curtain instead of a door between the sleeping area and bathroom, poor soundproofing from both the hallways and street, and mediocre bedding. We woke up with severe back pain, and honestly the floor might have been more comfortable. Two bedside lamps would have helped, too. We were only passing through the region, and the welcome on arrival was very frosty.
