We were left with a very disappointing stay. There were loads of mosquitoes, so bring plug-ins, repellent, and coils. We also had ants in the apartment and even saw a cockroach. It was only moderately clean when we arrived, and the poor insulation made it extremely hot despite a cool week for that time of year, with temperatures no higher than 24°C. The listing said there was a bedroom and living room, so we expected a separate bedroom. Instead, we got a tiny studio. The photos hid this and gave us the wrong impression. Though advertised for four, the place was far too small for more than two. With a baby or toddler it was impossible: we had to put a chair outside just to unfold the travel cot. We filed a complaint. The owner acted in bad faith, and the only offer was to leave and get a refund. That might have been possible after hours of driving in the middle of summer, with no other accommodation available, a baby, and a pregnant woman. We had good memories of a quality residence from two years ago, but since the ownership changed a year ago, standards have fallen badly. We absolutely don’t recommend this accommodation.

At €103.60 a night in peak season, we felt this was very good value. The location was central, and parking was free. Our apartment faced the street with the local bar, so there was some noise. Earplugs might be useful. Inside, everything was spotless. The small kitchen had the essentials: a microwave, fridge, kettle, and dishes. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and towels were good quality. The bathroom was functional and accessible for people with disabilities. A very well-appointed little apartment.

Parking was easy, and the location is good. The price was reasonable too. The apartments feel dated and impersonal, with very basic furnishings, but they do come with all the essentials.

I don’t really know the place, just had some information about holidays there. It seems a little expensive for the period from June through the first week of July. We’re now in Ciboure, by the port and shops, in an 80 m² four-room apartment for €450 a week. We cross the bridge and we’re in St jean Luz for the fiesta of the St jean festivities and the big beach.

The apartment was lovely and superbly equipped, and the welcome was so warm. The city center and shops are close enough to reach on foot. I’d happily recommend it for a stay with friends or family, and I’m already booking another visit.
