Camping L'Airial

The lake across the way is fantastic, with a bar, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. Grill du lac is worth a short bike ride. There's also a flat, lovely bike lane through the forest to the beach, about 5k away. We stayed four nights in August with our motorhome. It's a great site for young families, with a pool and slides, good entertainment, pétanque and table tennis. The sanitary buildings were in good shape. The bar and restaurant are expensive. We also enjoyed seeing swallows and their nests in the site buildings.

We stopped here for two nights with our caravan and four people, on the way to Spain. It's a large campsite, with around 60-70% mobile homes, and the reception staff were friendly. We paid almost €90 a night, including a €30 reservation fee for the two nights, which felt far too high. The general upkeep doesn't match a 4-star campsite, and the sanitary buildings and swimming pool need maintenance. In one building, birds flew over our heads and droppings were everywhere.

The kids loved the water slides, and the cycle-only path to the beach was fabulous. We stayed a few days in August, when the park was completely full and felt crowded, especially at the pools, which seemed to struggle with the number of people later in the day. The facilities were well organised, and shared areas were kept clean. We did find several dog droppings on our pitch when we arrived.

In May and June it was super quiet, and the pitches are extra large, with room for a caravan, big awning and car. Most are sandy or grassy, so bring ground sheets. The cycle path to the village and coast is great, and there's a heated indoor pool. On site, there's a bar and restaurant, plus a beautician. The toilet and shower block was spotless. Laundry costs €6, payable by cash or card, and there are dryers, large hand-washing sinks, a dishwashing area and fridge lockers for an extra charge.
