The room was small, but it was cleaner and better than the hotel we’d stayed at the first night. Our booking had been canceled after our flight was delayed by a few hours, and Hotel Ibis took us in for the rest of our time in Paris. For what we paid, it had what we needed: a clean room, private bathroom, and two beds. We weren’t planning to spend much of the vacation at the hotel anyway.

It was a terrible night. The hotel had no air conditioning, even though it was 30 degrees outside, and there were small holes in the room floor. The room itself was very small, too. I also didn’t feel good about the nearby community at night. If you’re traveling with family, I strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

We left ibis for our own safety, even though we still had several nights booked, from January 15-18, 2020. I asked the receptionist how to open the door from outside with the code, and he confronted me in a hostile way, shouting as if he wanted to kill me. I consider this a very dangerous hotel. I intend to have the matter investigated and to seek a ban on travel sites like expedia. A cheap hotel isn’t worth it if you don’t feel safe.

For a family trip, I wouldn’t recommend this small ibis on the outskirts of Paris. It’s basic, but fine for a night’s rest. The outside gate is locked at night and uses the same code as your room. If reception is closed, there’s a check-in terminal by the entrance, and security is there all night to help.

I’m not sure something wasn’t wrong here. The reservation confirmation didn’t have Ibis in the domain name, and the receptionist who booked it for me gave me the impression that Ibis and F1 were run by the same company. I accepted her offer to book F1 hotel, and that led to the trouble I had at F1 hotel at Saint-Denis. The Ibis receptionist had handled my call by phone.
