Hotel Campanile Metz Nord - Talange

I arrived in my broeken camper with a flat tire, and Etienne at reception kindly made some calls and arranged a mechanic to fix it. Really friendly, helpful service. Campanile is a highway hotel, and it does exactly what you need for a stop.

For a short stay the spot is handy, right by the highway with plenty of parking. But I had to switch rooms four times because the beds and rooms had bed bugs. I was nearly ready to leave, but the receptionist kept helping me find another room, and eventually I got one without them. I missed the breakfast cutoff at 9:30, so I arrived late. The choice wasn't great, though that part was my own fault. They really need to sort out the bed bug problem. Otherwise, it could work for a brief stay.

Easy to find, with good access to the motorways. The room was huge, clean, and fresh smelling, with crisp sheets and a king size bed that was neither too soft nor too hard. There was a big shower separate from the toilet, and the cabinets had extra pillows plus self service coffee and tea with takeaway cups. The entrance looked nice, and the bilingual receptionist was pleasant and professional in her uniform. Compared with other places, this one was really good.

Our room was roomy, nicely furnished, and comfortable, and breakfast was good. There were a couple of places to eat nearby as well as the hotel restaurant, but it was closed for the public holiday. The hotel is close to the highway in an industrial area. Shame the lift was out of order when our room was on the top, third floor.
