Domaine Les Clayères

After a day cycling, the pool was a lovely way to cool off, and the terrace was a nice place to sit with a drink. The restaurant serves lovely meals indoors or outside, too. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the stylish rooms are cool and comfortable, with beautiful views. Breakfast was a wonderful start to the day. The hotel feels tucked away in a peaceful spot, a great escape from busy Les Sables d’Olonne, but still has all the comfort and amenities of a top-tier hotel. An outstanding hidden gem, highly recommended!

We had dinner here twice in one week while staying at a nearby B&B, so we weren't hotel guests. The French cooking was refined, imaginative and full of flavor, and both the food and service were outstanding. It’s in a tiny oyster-farming port that feels charmingly remote.

We stopped in by bike recently. The restaurant is tastefully designed, with comfortable chairs. They offered cocktails with a little pastry to nibble on, then we chose the menu and were very happy with it. Lots of different flavors, and the local products were explained well. A really pleasant meal.

We found this to be the best restaurant in the area. The setting is modern and nice, the food is excellent, and the service is perfect. We’ll definitely return.
